Thanks Zach...but those were all T2..G3...or already known into the nodes......so i suspect that a T2 low grade if all scans are clean seem to indicate to the various surgeons to wait until after cystectomy and node removal. Everything that the NCI has is outdated. Pat

Pat, et al,

If you will go to the forum main page and type in "neodjuvant chemotherapy" into the SEARCH box, you will find 4 threads where this subject has previously been discussed. You will find some replies in these threads by both Wendy and Cynthia.

This is just a way for somebody who doesn't know much about the subject trying to shed some light. (I'm learning slowly, though...)

Best regards,
Rosemary

Well i think its just now either low grade or high grade...the former 1 and 2's are now low grade and the 3's and 4's high grade. But whatever, I don't want to give out information that is obsolete and its so hard to find current information sometimes without going directly to some of the sources. For instance we have a person on the forum right now that is scheduled for a cystectomy at a very prestigious medical center in California and she has progressed to a T2 and possible grade 2 or 3...??? not an exact science huh. No mention of chemo made to her beforehand and she is understandably concerned after reading these posts. So there must be a big variable in there somewhere? I'm just trying to figure out what it is?

Well Pat now that they have yanked the G2 you are either G1 or G3, and Stage 2 some folks have had the RC so I really don't know what to say other then it is the decision of the individual or a Dr's recommendation. Dr. Schoenberg did his residency under my surgeon Dr.Malkowicz so I would definitely respect his decision with your T2 G2 status 5 years ago. I have spoke to Dr. Malkowicz about Dr. Schoenberg and he has nothing but the best to say about the man he is also a great surgeon as we all know and all these top guns know each other. At the time I was just asking Dr. Malkowicz if he knew Dr. Schoenberg and that's when I found out he did his residency at the U of P. Joe ;)
