Pat,

From my own experience Deverne must be a strong man because I do not know that I could have made that 3 dat trip that quick after my surgery but the desire to get home is strong in all of us! Rest up, take care and know the road gets better every week now.

Thanks for all your love and support, we couldn't have done it without you! Thanks for your prayers, that's what really has carried us knowing so many people are praying really gives us strength.

We are now home in Ks. It was a 3 day travel and we were glad to just change hotels for a change of rooms. One night we stayed at our sons too so got to visit with him. We stopped a lot to get Deverne out and moving. I can't believe the progress he has made and how well he is doing with everything, prayer works!

Am tired so off to nap while he is also.

hugs

Ginger and Pat,

Every time I would get a little down because of what I had gone through or how I must live my life from now on my wife would remind me that I am alive and no other cancer was found in any of the lymph nodes or the prostrate and I had no chemo. I needed that little reality check or tough love once in a while the first four weeks but after I returned to work I do not have those moments anymore. I go for my first cancer check-up the end of March so I will be getting into the post cancer routine that I will live with forever. The worst thing for me now is worrying when I have chest congestion hoping it is not lung cancer, I hope these thoughts go away after a couple of good cancer checks. Pat I hope your trip home is going well and please pass my best wishes to Deverne and let him know it is O.K. to take recovery at his own pace.

Dale and Pat,

Dale, We caregivers appreciate your thoughts on how unselfish one must be to get ones loved one through this type of surgery and disease. Your right, one step forward one step back,, patience, patience, patience. All in due time...I personally have been trying to relax on the caregiver mode as it seems to continue on in your mind,,so get out the wine, celebrate life, light a candle and be glad you have each other. Do something fun,, remember to live once again..
Pat, your caregiver routine is well on its way by now,, I am sure its going well as you both have moved along thru the surgery,,remember its gets better, take care,Ginger
