I posted my story last week under "Nervous Dad" in the superficial forum. In late July I noticed blood in my urine after a jog the day before a 2 week family vacation. I called my primary doc and he asked for a CT scan. The scan was negative. He asked me to follow-up with a uro after my vacation for a cysto. At the cysto the uro noticed a small 1cm tumor. He spent a little time with me but I was scared to death. I have 2 young children. Also, my mother died at at the young age of 60 with ovarian cancer. I took care of her and now realize how important it is to have good information and an advocate. I was very fortunate to find this great site. When my tumor was discovered, it brought back all the sad memories of my mom.

Last week I had a 2nd cysto with fulguration and biopsy along with a dose of Mitomycin. The procedure went well. The pathology report came back today. The nurse on the telephone said that my uro told her that all was well and I just need to follow-up with a cysto in 3 months. The path report said I have low grade urothelial papillary carcinoma. I asked for a copy of the report. I am also considering sending the slides to a place like Johns Hopkins for a second opinion. I'm not sure what this all means but from what I have read it sounds like it is a pretty good diagnosis. I am not sure if this is considered cancer but it sure sounds like it with the carcinoma tag. It sounds like my treatment will be follow-up cystos every three months. I intend to call my uro and ask a few more questions. Am I missing anything? Does anybody else have a similar diagnosis? This has been a hard month. The waiting for reports etc. and dealing with questions from my kids has been most difficult. Again, thanks to all for a site with lots of good information. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
