I have learned via other major health issues that I have had to put to behind me as well as talking with others we can do 10's of more tests and keep looking for something amiss and still not finds a problem. I have all my life had a heart rate around 48-55. My cardiologist panicked the first time I met him 3 years ago as 60-80 is considered normal. Wanted to put me on pacemaker among other tests. I told him that has been my NORM all of my life. I am not a world class athlete however I am in pretty good shape for a 66 year old. I told him to leave me alone as "world class" athletes can run as low as 38-45 BPM as their norm and that is my "clock". Just an example.

As mentioned in another thread some people simply pass microscopic blood with a cause unknown. Yes, it would be good to be checked again for a few trips (months) as directed by your Docs. For my $$$ I'd go about my life.

DX 5/6/2008 TAG3 papillary tumor .5 CM in size. 2 TURBS followed by 6 instillations of BCG weekly with a second round of 6 after a 6 week wait.

I have extreme health anxiety, and I can feel for you in this case. I guess the best you can do is trust your docs. My Uro and all the Uros at his practice won't do cytology because of "poor accuracy" (their words). He has over 20 years doing this. I've never asked about FISH. But then again, my journey into this realm only began about 3 months ago. I mean, what more can they do than what they've already done? I keep trying to reassure myself with that.

The FISH test is notorious for false positives. My URO won't even do them. Cytology with cystoscope and CT scan is all he needs.

So I am a 59 Year Old Male...have not smoked for 25 years. I have had Microscopic Hematuria for 20 years and have never been able to pinpoint the cause. So every year I have Cytology and a Fish Test which were always negative until this month. I had 25 of 25 cells show up as irregular on the Fish. The Cytology though was negative. I have undergone a Cystosopy and CT Scan with contrast in the last two weeks and everything was normal. Naturally freaking out about the Fish Test...but with no symptoms or visible blood not sure what to think. I have a follow up appointment with the Urol on Friday. Just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience. I go to a very reputable and large Urology practice in Ohio so thinking I am getting good care.
