Hi!
I am grateful to have found this group, and appreciate all insights offered. I was diagnosed with high grade muscle invasive bladder cancer, T2, and currently discussing options with two surgeons. Had a TURBT done 10-25 in which a 3.8 cm tumor was removed, recovered well and then advised on 11/2 of my future. I live north of Boston, and looking at having the procedure at Brigham & Womens in the city. A cystectomy is the recommended procedure, to be done in the next 2 months. I am a divorced 49 year young gal, living with and acting as the primary caregiver for my housebound, O2 dependent Mom. Quite honestly I am freaking out. SO many questions; thoughts all over the place. I have an amazing group of friends around me – but they all still have their bladders, and for the most part – all the other parts. I am at a loss for where to go for answers, guidance – general reassurance.
I am open to information about it all, suggestions for pre & post op, general info (good and bad) – anything.
Yes, I have smoked for many years and had NO idea it's relation to bladder cancer. Today marks day 6 (or 115 hours) without a smoke. None of this is easy.
Thanks for your time and I wish peace to all.
