Brooke,
Welcome, just sorry why you are here. A week is pretty quick. Sounds like the ER saw something that you want to handle fairly quickly. If it was a UTI possibly with blood normally you would do antibiotics first to rule that out. On to your specifics. The cystoscopy is one of two primary diagnostic tests. The other is usually a CT scan to be sure the rest of the urinary tract has no issues. Both together give a good picture and 2, 3 even 4 weeks is not too long. Yes, the waiting is no fun. However, tumors do not grow that fast. IF either show a need for a biopsy called a TURB (transurethral resection of the bladder) that is usually done fairly quickly as a day surgery under light sedation to cut/burn any tumors and have samples to biopsy. You really will know NOTHING important (if needed) unless you get to this stage.Take one day at a time. Keep us posted as you go and let's trust this is nothing at such time we will cheer you outta here!
