Rynhoop,

While I have not had a cystectomy (although I am BC survivor), I have had other major surgeries (bypass and torn ligaments with re-hab). My insurance allowed an adequate amount of re-hab as outpatient and I would look into extra coverage for home health if your insurance allows with nurses checking up to help you and your Dad. I am assuming some that have had your surgery will chime in on actual experience plus I have found the discharging nurses I have had were really good on what to expect. You are thinking ahead and will do fine!

DX 5/6/2008 TAG3 papillary tumor .5 CM in size. 2 TURBS followed by 6 instillations of BCG weekly with a second round of 6 after a 6 week wait.

I'm scheduled to get neobladder surgery in 2 weeks and although I have lots of questions, my most pressing one is what kind of home care will I need? I'm single and have no kids. My dad plans on moving in to take care of me while I recover but we're not sure what will be required of him to help me out. Thanks!
