Update.. The doctor prescribed Ditropan 3x daily and he has been taking for 4 days, but it is drying his mouth out and he is having a hard time swallowing. The pain was better yesterday, but tonight it's back to really hurting. Talked to the nurse on call and she said unfortunately it is a common occurrence. They want to leave the cath in until next week to be sure the bladder is healed.
Have found a heating pad on his tummy gives him some relief. Feel helpless that i cannot make him feel better.

I'd certainly call you URO also tomorrow. I see an outside possibility of an infection in your description unless they have him on antibiotics already. That simply urine test catches most of them. Hopefully that cath can come out in another day.

The circumstances may be totally different, but with my first TURBT, my doctor prescribed Oxybutynin 5 MG for bladder spasms. I had few spasms, but the medication worked for me. I hope this is useful.

Hubby was to have kidney stone removed 3 days ago and when they got to the bladder they found cancer. They tell me it was totally removed and there was no sign of spreading outside.

He has a catheter and his penis pain is terrible, burning and off/on pain so bad it makes him shake all over. He can take allot of pain, so I know it is bad. He is drinking allot of water and his bag is filling frequently. He also has some leakage when the pain starts.

Getting up and down is painful as well. They have him on meds for bladder spasms. I don't think it is helping. How long do the spasms last. Other than that he is doing great, no fever, eating, bowel movements.

He also has a nephrosy bag from his back and that has no pain.

And suggestions to make him more comfortable?
