So sorry to hear about your mother's situation. This would seem to be a question that you really need to discuss seriously with your mother's primary care physician as well as the urologist. Only they and you are close enough to the situation to be able to make this determination .

Can anyone answer a question for me? My 84 yr old mother has received "bladder scrapings" for the last five years on a quarterly basis. She has had now had several strokes and we feel she is unable to continue with them. Does anyone know what will happen? Doctor said the cancer is not going to kill her before her strokes do, but, he will not give us an answer on some questions without seeing her first. We have explained that she is to weak and difficult to move to even get her into his office for him to see. Her symptoms of needing the scraping done again usually is the passing of blood and blood clots in the urine.

And, it seems that she has actually forgotten she even has the bladder cancer.

Do we just let the bleeding continue?
