As you probably know, fatigue is the most common side effect of BCG. Eye problems are not. I would call your urologist's office ASAP and report this and ask for advice.

Barb,

Welcome, we are sorry you had to be here! Flu like is often a symptom. I remember my doc did tell me if I ran a temp of 101 or above to see him promptly which never happened. The vast majority of time everything is manageable. On crusted eyes. I have not run across that but, I imagine it can be the BCG. The good news is this is all treatable and beatable. Plus, we all know someone that the fight involves chemo-a lot worse situation.

DX 5/6/2008 TAG3 papillary tumor .5 CM in size. 2 TURBS followed by 6 instillations of BCG weekly with a second round of 6 after a 6 week wait.

Hi Barb. I would ask my doctor to prescribe Restasis for dry eyes. I haven't started my BCG treatments, but start this coming Tuesday. Not looking forward, but trying to prepare to include all the preps to be sure I don't contaminate my bathroom.

My urologist found a large malignant tumors and removed it in May, he went in again and found a smaller one near my kidneys not sure if he missed it the first time or if it had grown in the 2 weeks after first tumors removal it was also malignant. I am now doing BCG and am on my 2 dose, I have some of the side effects but nothing I can't handle. Feels like I have a bad case of the flue what's bothering me are my eyes it feels like something is in them and they water and are crusted closed when I awake, has anyone else experienced this and if so any suggestions?
