Saw the doctor today as a new patient he was going to scope me but since we had a ct with a mass on it he decided and I agreed to set up the TURBT next Tuesday. So I will be asleep and won't have to be awake for the scope. FYI I had a issue years ago in my unthrea so I have gone through this awake. I also asked him to schedule another ct with contrast before so I can feel easy before the procedure as I have a history of cancer in the bowels. The ct without contrast didn't see anything but he agreed to get that study. Anyway hopefully it will be a good result. Thanks for replying guys I appreciated

Manufanatic,

Yes, the waiting is probably the worst part. It is good to listen to your body. I'll add my experience also on "other" pain. After my TURBs and BCG treatment for several months after, every little creak, strain, every little pain made me want to wonder.... is this more? Heck, I am 65 and 9 years later I still have those BUT, the fear is gone. Plus, the probability of yours and mine being something more is small. Keep posting.

DX 5/6/2008 TAG3 papillary tumor .5 CM in size. 2 TURBS followed by 6 instillations of BCG weekly with a second round of 6 after a 6 week wait.

Thanks Jack. My concern is the back pain normally means advanced stage but my ct showed no other issues outside the bladder.n I know the ct isn't that sensitive. So it can be awhile to actually find out? Again thanks for replying

Manufanatic,

Welcome to the forum. Your story begins the same way as for many (or most) of us here. Wrong color urine.

You are taking the right action - early visit to the urologist. While we hope your nodule is not cancer, if it is, when treated early there are a number of options that have a high chance of achieving a good resolution.

After a look-see, expect the urologist to scheduled for a TURBT (TransUrethral Resection of Bladder Tumor) - removing the growth and sending it out to biopsy - normally an outpatient procedure. There may be other tests.

Until the pathologist examines the biopsy material you will not know what further may need to be done. The growth might (hopefully) be benign - is not necessarily cancer. If it is a cancer, the pathology report will point to the best range of options.

Try to relax while waiting for the pathology report. This site has much information, all based on individual's journeys, beginning where you are today. This forum is a good place to ask about any issues that arise as you move ahead; I hope it will help you as much as it has helped me and others.

Best,
Jack

I'm 52 years old male cancer survivor 22 years ago NHL in my small bowel. I was experiencing back pain but I have chronic back pain but this was different. I assumed I strained it but yesterday I started peeing brown and had a blood blob in my stream. When to the er and the ct showed a 11mm hyper dense nodule along the right lateral wall posteriorly. Seeing a urologist tomorrow. Wonder if anyone had a similar diagnosis. I know that I will find out tomorrow maybe but I thought I should ask.

Thanks
