What is the history in the forum if the initial 6 BCG treatments for non invasive CIS is not successful, is a second round of BCG more successful, or is there another protocol that can be used? Is the second round of BCG a stronger dose?

IF there is ANY doubt please do get a second opinion! Most of us will say that. At the same time it sounds like your URO has been thorough job so lets trust the BCG has done it's job and then your question will be moot!

DX 5/6/2008 TAG3 papillary tumor .5 CM in size. 2 TURBS followed by 6 instillations of BCG weekly with a second round of 6 after a 6 week wait.

My original diagnosis and subsequent BCG treatments for my CIS Non Invasive cancer are complete, and I go in for a check on March 28th. I don't know if after the cystoscopy and biopsy whether I will be coming home as before with a catheter, and if the result is that the CIS is still present should I go for a second opinion. I live near Massachusetts General, and have received 3 great referrals for the 3 top Urologists at Mass General (they have 41 in the department). My local guy has been fine, but I am wondering what the population of the society thinks about second opinions.
