George, you are an inspiration to all of us!! It is so important for those just joining us to learn that there are still old fogies like you who have been around so long and are still here and living life to the fullest!!!

I am also 8 years and counting, but, of course, am not yet an "old fogie." Hope I never am

So often, once people have achieved the "new normal" and go on with their lives they would prefer to forget bladder cancer .

And, as my dad always told me, with the car ALWAYS CHECK THE OIL!!

Hello

I posted this here in the Newly diagnosed forum because this is usually the first stop for our new members.

When I first came to this site with a brand new diagnosis of bladder cancer, I was scared to death and feared the worst. I was already making plans to spend my last days living it up until cancer took me away.

So you are now saying "Yeah! that's me!"
I knew we had a lot in common.

But after Xrays.... ultrasounds...cystoscopes... CT scans..... Two TURBs.... and a bladder removal and a neo bladder manufactured; I am now 8 years cancer free!
And I still come to this site on a weekly basis because this is where I found the will to fight and maintain my sense of humor.

The people here have helped me in so many ways, and if you are NEW here..... Listen to their advice and don't sign that death warrant so quickly.
Has it been a piece of cake? Uh NO!
Do I still have a "new Normal?" Uh YES!
Are there things that Tick me off? Absolutely!

But I'm still here after 8 years and I am happy that they still let me post on this site. I always think that they might block me because of my non PC comments.

So........ Take hope that you can beat this pesky bastard and live a life that is what you make it!

From the day they say "You have cancer" You become a survivor.
So lets not let fear rule our lives. Always get a second opinion. If you think your Dr is not doing the right thing by you.... get another. Find the best hospital for your care and make sure they have done hundreds and hundreds of these procedures.
That is the best advice I can give

George * years c free!!!

Now if I could only find out what is wrong with the race car. It has a demon inside that makes it run like crap and we can't find the problem. Even the LED headlight has turned from bright white to Red........... The devil is inside somewhere.

Light a man a fire and he is warm for an evening.
Light a man ON fire and he's warm forever.
