Neon Orange Pee after TURBT

I'm glad it was just the AZO :) My pathology results took about a week and a half to appear in my online folder/portal. Once the report was posted, I was able to read it, do some research, and have my questions all ready for my follow-up doctor's visit.

You might want to check with your doctor's office or the hospital where you had the TURBT done to find out if there is a web site where you can sign up for access to your medical records and reports.

Take care and keep us posted,
LillianG

omgoodness, how embarrassing ... you are absolutely correct. It was the AZO.

I am still feeling really well.

How long does it 'normally' take for the pathology report to come back? I don't have a follow up appt for another 5 weeks, I don't think I can wait that long for an answer and will want to call. My Urologist practices in Southern Calif and only comes up north once very 5-6 weeks, for a week. I was very lucky to get him, but it has it drawbacks.

Jopo,

Mitomicyn turned mine a bluish color, as I was told to expect, but the color went away the same day.

Pyridine (Phenazopyridine), like AZO, turns mine bright orange, a dose lasts almost a day, diminishing in depth of color with time. Pyridine is for urinary tract pain, urgency and burning. It helps. Other names for these products escapes me.

Are you taking one of these colorful products for urinary pain ?

Best,
Jack

Hi - I'm glad your TURBT went well. Are you taking any kind of urinary pain medication, such as AZO? If so, AZO will turn your urine bright orange. Or perhaps what you are see is a little blood in the urine, which is also common for a few days after a TURBT.

Take care,
LillianG

I had my TURBT on Saturday, all went great. I felt good. Didn't have to have a catheter coming home, yay! I had a dose of Mitomycin. I was shocked that they wore 'hazmat' suits to drain my bladder afterwards, lol.
So, it has been 3 days and I am still urinating bright orange pee. A little bit of blood now and then. Is the neon orange the medication? When I flush the toilet, it turns bright yellow. I am still using bleach in case it is the chemo. How long will it take for my urine to clear?

Thank you.
