Congrats on finishing the first hurdle!! No, that is not too long to wait. Your bladder is probably pretty angry at you right now.....the urologist would see a lot of irritation and could not tell if it was something to be concerned about or just BCG irritation. Let it heal a bit!

I once had to have a small biopsy several months after BCG because my bladder was still inflammed. Diagnosis? BCG cystitis.

Hi Everyone,

Finished my 6th BCG treatment last week for the initial induction course and called my Urologist's office about scheduling the follow-up cystoscopy. The nurse called back saying the doc wants to wait 3 months before doing the cysto to ensure the bladder is completely healed up from the BCG. She said if it looks good, then the doc will start me on the 3-wk BCG maintenance program.

While I'm in no hurry to have another cystoscopy, was wondering if the 3 month wait was too long for my T1HG/CIS diagnosis? Thoughts?

12/15 - Diagnosed Ta HG, 1.5cm Pap, Focal CIS
3/16 - Began BCG following NCCN and SWOG guidelines
2/19 - Ta HG recurrence and CIS/Ta HG in right kidney/ureter
2/19 - Nephroureterectomy to remove right kidney/ureter
9/19 - BCGx33 completed
2/20 - Invasive HG urothelial pT2 in prostate stroma
