Good morning Sara-Anne I just wanted to keep you in my loop, I did as you recommend and talked to my urologist last week and we were both calm but he also told me although my ct scan was clear he had no idea why my kidneys hurt while urination. I asked if he ever had anyone complain about this and he told me no. I can't be the only person in urineary history to have pain in my kidney while urination, can I. I have never talked to anyone that only answered direct questions. If he knows that I have fears about my health why can't he just tell me something. And why wouldn't he try to treat my symptoms in ky kidney. Any advise? Alan/Obie

Thank you Alan. I do agree with what are saying. Cancer is bad news and we all absorb the info in our own way. The kidney pain I was having during urination while BCG treatments was off the chart and Dr took me off treatment after 4 treatments. I am still hanving kidney pain but alot less, about a 4 I guess. I will see the Dr again in 3 weeks and see what is next for me. I had put off rotater cuff surgery when I was diagnosed with Bladder Cancer so that is on the 4th of Jan. Then I can put all these issues assure and get back to work. Thanks for your reply I needed it. Alan

I don't discount your pain at all with my next comment. For 4-6 months after finishing my treatments, every ache and pain in my back made me wonder what was behind it. It obviously was a non event. I do believe muscle fatigue can be a side affect so maybe that is it. The good thing is you are listening to your body.

DX 5/6/2008 TAG3 papillary tumor .5 CM in size. 2 TURBS followed by 6 instillations of BCG weekly with a second round of 6 after a 6 week wait.

Dr 's nurse told me ct was clean. Yaaaaa I asked about the kidney pain and she told me it had nothing to do with urinary track. I told her it only hurts while urination and she told me to tell the dr about it in 3 weeks on next visit. Oh well, Alan

Sara,Ann I can't tell you enough how I have found some peace with this blog. Please forgive me this is my first blogging experience and I'm not good at typing.
It's been a week now off the Bcg treatment and I am still feeling rough. The bladder spasm meds keep the pain down some what but I feel extremely medicated all the time. I did get my 2 ct scans and a chest exray today and hope the dr looks at them before he goes to south America Friday for his vacation. Well wish me luck and I will report back in when I know anything. Alan
