Hello
I know you are scared. It is the normal reaction to this news. And left untreated, It is really scary.
But now that you both know. You need to go through the test stage. They will do a cystoscope and you can watch it on TV too. It is a camera(the size of a brownie camera) and it clearly showed my cancer.
The next step is a TURB(trans uteral resection of the bladder) and this is a small operation where they remove as much c as they can. Then they will do another one to check for more cancer cells.
If necessary.... they will remove the bladder. Don't worry, they removed mine and I am still here after 7 years.

So this is the short story to a long story.
Yes you can break down and have a good cry in each other's arms. You need to know this is not the common cold.
You both need to "team up" together to conquer this. It must be a daily conference and information sharing between you both. You are in this equally.
And the kids need to know too. Maybe not all the yucky stuff, but they need to know what is going on. It's only making it worse when you "shield" them. They make up horror stories.

And finally....... Find yourself a GREAT Dr. who will be aggressive and make you cancer free.
I actually had blood clots that came out for almost a year before I talked to a Dr and he went into high gear after he scoped me.

Best of luck
George

Thank you, wichobel. I'll know more tomorrow. And you're right, not knowing what's going on is the worst part.
I wish you well.

Hello all,

My husband (44 years old) has been urinating with blood. He was in denial for months until I convinced him to see a doctor yesterday.
Blood test and urinary test came back negative for bacterial infection.
Doctor wanted him to have a cystology on Tuesday and she looked concerned.
He has no other symptoms, just a ridiculous amount of blood (it's red, not even orange, plain red!) when he urinates. One of the main reasons he never seeked help in three or four months is because he said blood would come and go, it wasn't constant.

We'll have some more results from his urinary test tomorrow (Monday) and hopefully the cystology in two days. I'm worried, scared, and sad. We have two little kids together. He's cried all day today after looking online.
