And this story has a happy ending.

Cystoscope was performed this morning. Not a fun thing but definitely tolerable.

They found NOTHING. Absolutely NOTHING. The CT scan was a false alarm!

Thanks all!

Thanks. In my case they haven't given any predictions. I am an engineer too and probably think along the same analytical lines as you. While there is considerable science in medicine there is also an "art" element as well. Hence, two pathologists reaching different conclusions on the tissue sample, a CT scan that has artifacts due to a non-distended bladder, etc.

I am prepared either way but staying optimistic.

Understood and obviously hope that (benign situation) is your outcome as well; I was more pessimistic about my situation (as was the urologist) since the radiologist gave 90/10 odds it was malignant just based on the nature of the CT results. And she was (unfortunately) correct in her judgment. When one is pessimistic, one is rarely disappointed lol! Comes with being an engineer....

At the moment I'm trying to stay considerably more optimistic until there is reason to think otherwise.

The cystoscope is scheduled for tomorrow in the dr. office. However, if there is to be anything else it will be scheduled in the hospital some day later.

I'm still hoping for the best.

One final point I forgot to make in my earlier e-mail: my tumor was also discovered on a CT urogram. The urologist scheduled a cystoscopy AND if needed a TURBT at the same time - so, he went in with a cystoscope, saw it was a tumor, and immediately went in with the larger device to perform the TURBT. So it was not cystoscopy one day, TURBT at a later date - it was all at once. An I was anesthesized for the entire process (propofol). FYI. Again, good luck!!
