Just Received the basic news

Sara Anne's words are gospel. I changd from a prostate jocky to a bladder urologist and am very happy I did. To take her advice a step further, I am planning to have my radical cystectomy at Stanford (Dr. Skinner) sometime next month instead of having my local urologist perform the surgery. Thank you. That was my thinking also. The email from them said they would hold my appointment and would contact me the next day (which would be today, Saturday), but I am thinking since it is the weekend, it may not happen until Monday. I should get the pathology report back by Tuesday and have an appointment with original urologist to get the results. So that timing will be good, I think.

One more question...should I go ahead and go to the Dr. in Arlington or just go straight on to M. D. Anderson. I definitely do not want the "prostate" doctor to do any treatment. I am thinking it is just a waste of time and money.

Thank you all for your encouraging thoughts. I have had faith in my general doctor, but I think she didn't listen to me several months ago when I kept telling her I felt like I had a bladder infection...just kept saying the lab results didn't show anything.

I found this sight, and it made me feel better hearing that I should go to a bladder specialist facility .. and of course, I have always heard M.D. Anderson is the best in Texas. Just making that decision lifted a burden off me. I have a call in to them and they are to call me tomorrow to set up an appointment although I won't get the Path back until next week. I can have the appointment set up so I can go straight to them and take all my records and get started on a treatment.

Y'all have already helped me so much by just making me see the difference. I look forward to learning more from you and getting your support. It's good to have someone listen and know what I am going through.
