I am the queen of the TURB or one of them. And there are turbs and there are TURBS. It depends on if they are doing deep bites or shallow it depends on the situation. In other words you get bite by a shark or a minnow. Have you talked to your doctor about medication to control spasms and pain in your bladder?

For a bit you need to get pragmatic there are products out there called male shields. I find that it is better if I am able to just manage inconstancy myself it is enough of a bother to have without having to share the indignity. I do not have it often from my diversion but I can get what they call pouchitis once in a while and my Indiana miss behaves.

I know that at the moment you feel that this is a never ending nightmare but please know it takes time to heal and process. I have seen times I didn't think I would ever get better, but one day at a time we handled the problems and got through. Now life isn't perfect; it wasn't before but one can always hope. Unfortunately this journey we are on at times is more of a crawl than a race, just keep in mind what it did for the tortoise.

Well, no UTI, but I'll take the antibiotics for the next two weeks.

My Dr said he thinks the scab broke off which is why I'm feeling pain and such.

Urination is very painful (stinging / burning followed by throbbing) - but then they did take a chunk of flesh out of my bladder.

There's still blood at the end of urination, bright red sometimes. It almost seems like I'm bleeding inside my urethra.

Yesterday was bad - I had a bottle in my car just in case, but got caught in traffic. Despite my efforts, I ended up soaking my clothes in urine. Holding it just isn't an option, it feels like my skin is tearing. I was humiliated and ashamed - but my wife was very understanding. She washed my clothes.

Still no sleep longer than 4 hours at a time; usually in 90 minute spurts with one 3 or 4 hour stretch.

The pain is almost unbearable at times and every trip (which are frequent) to the bathroom come with the dread of what's coming. I was in tears with my Dr. today when we found it wasn't a UTI. The pain is sharp, throbbing, and.. well.. it just sucks.

Hopefully next week it'll be better.

Yes - looked good. My sister's cancer was signet cell adenocarcinoma. so it doesn't show on a CT. That's my biggest fear - that was brutal for her.

They sent a urine sample off for culture because they couldn't test for UTI with everything else in my urine.

Gave me more uridol - Gosh, but it's made a huge difference just overnight.

Marble, was a CT scan also done? In my case and many others it is often done to get a complete look at the urinary tract to be sure other issues are there. Just a thought.

DX 5/6/2008 TAG3 papillary tumor .5 CM in size. 2 TURBS followed by 6 instillations of BCG weekly with a second round of 6 after a 6 week wait.

Ok - well, I have my trusty 20oz water bottle. So My plan is 3 before lunch and 3 before bed.

That gives me roughly 3.55 liters of hydration daily (~120oz). I've got to make this a habit because in the past, I'd drink maybe two or three glasses of water a day - at most. I've read how improper hydration ups your odds of bladder cancer.

I'm going to get some OTC UTI test strips just to check - and if they go positive call my nurse and see what they recommend.

Still discharging bits of flesh and blood at the end of evacuation. It's unnerving.

One thing about bladder cancer is you're reminded every time you go to the bathroom. I just went to the bathroom and not 2 minutes later I'm doing the gotta go two step in the kitchen. Grrr.. :)

I feel almost guilty being frustrated or angry about it considering what other people go through, but dang it - normalcy evades me even now, almost 20 days later.
