Paula,

I also had a very bad reaction to Cipro. really messed me for a while.
I am really happy to hear your out come, that's about as good as it gets.

Remember to start eating Yogurt a couple a times a day while on the antibiotics. Mix up the brands so that you get many different bacteria. That will keep your system in reasonably good shape. We want to kill the bad bacteria, but still preserve the good bacteria.

Keep on schedule with your check-ups. And keep us posted as how your doing.

Paula,

Do you have any pyridium (the pill that turns your urine orange)? That may help with the burning. Hope you are feeling better every day. Glad you got the low grade diagnosis.

Thanks for your quick response Sara.Anne, I am very excited over my results, I thought that burning maybe from irritation but I did not know, and of course it did not happen when I was at the doctor's..This forum is wonderful, I would be so lost whitout all of you.

Paula, your diagnosis is as good as it gets for bladder cancer! Congratulations!!!

As for the burning, the antibiotic probably won't help and isn't for that. The burning comes from irritation due to the nature of the procedure. Tubes were stuffed up a passage that just ain't used to such things. So of course there is some irritation. It should disappear in a day or so. I usually experience this after each cystoscopy and BCG insertions.

ANYTIME a foreign object is placed in something such as your urethra, there is a chance of bacteria being inserted so matter how careful the doctor and his staff are. Cipro, for example, is routinely given after such a procedure. In your case, because of your allergic reaction, a different antibiotic is being prescribed. Be sure to take it as directed until it is all gone!!
You definitely do not want to end up with a urinary tract infection now!!

You are doing great, kiddo!!
