I'd suggest after. Then you will also have the pathology report and slides from this TURB as well.

Thanks for the information on the vaseline, that explains about this morning :) I thought I already had an infection but now I realize that was just the lube they had used that came out during the night.

Don't get me wrong, I took a ton of pain meds when I woke up at the doctors office, and last night. But by today all I needed to take was the spasm meds....when the spasms are going it does hurt but it's just for a few seconds.

I think I have decided on John Hopkins for my second opinion, but do I do it now before my next doctors appointment or do I wait until after? What's the normal procedure?

O.k. thanks again for all the help, Warren

Warren,

Glad to hear everything has gone well so far. No pain meds? You are one tough GUY! Use real Vasaline jelly on the entry point, otherwise the lube could dry up and leave you with the tiny daggers of death.

I found sleeping in my chair worked best for me untill the cather came out. Man I was happy to get that out of me. I healed up realy fast after that.

Best of luck on the patholagy, I'm sure it will be good. You suffered enough with the cath.

Warren, it's good to hear from you. OH, how i hated those catheters. I'm glad your doing okay with it. It's good to know you are moving forward and not waiting. Like Catherine said, I hope you get good news back.

Warren,

Be sure to use that lube stuff on the catheter hose where it enters the body (you know where I mean). Grow-age and shrinkage happens spontaneously at nite and lack of lubrication can be a real pain.

Glad it went well. As Catherine said, Johns Hopkins is pretty popular for 2nd opinions. I think they even have a way to sign up for it online.
Other options are MD Anderson, and Memorial Sloan Kettering.

I hope all comes back clear on the pathology!
