Just another welcome --- sorry losing bladder was dropped like a bomb. I am 72 year old retired priest had RC 9/11/10 have conduit which means I am a 'bagman' but certainly am glad to be alive and can do everything I did before operation with a few adjustments here and there. Not an easy operation, recuperation was several months but you will be okay if you have to have cystectomy. People on here can answer a lot of questions or point you to where you can find answers.
Take Care, Herb†

Age 72 had radical 9/11/10 have conduit everything is fine, grateful to be a cancer survivor. Lost Dad and Brother to Cancer both in their 50's.

@ mike: it's not that i hadn't heard of cystectomy: i'm sure doc no. 1 mentioned it early on, as one eventual possibility -- but suddenly docs nos. 1-3 all mentioned it within about two weeks, and doc no. 3 apparently does a lot of them -- so i was kinda shocked that i seem to have "progressed" from a BCG-type patient to a prospect for an RP!

You will Leak! That is a fact. I still leak when I get full or strain. But life has returned to mostly normal since my Cystectomy. (Although I have an overwhelming urge to check this site and respond to people who have been blindsided by this disease)
