Unfortunately, bladder cancer has a very high recurrence rate. Was the doctor sure that it is a recurrence, or was it possibly some that was missed during the first TURBT? It may well be time to get to a 2nd opinion doctor at a top bladder cancer center.

Could be that mitomycin would help or BCG. BCG works best on CIS, which is high grade, but it considered helpful with low grade as well. With Ta Low Grade, as you said you have, that "watchful waiting" is often the plan. One does have to question how many recurrences are ok before moving to BCG or Mitomycin treatment plan though.

I'd really suggest getting to a bladder cancer specialist at this point for a 2nd opinion on the treatment plan.

Hope the pathology comes back the same on this one as the last time. Ta/G1 is about the best you can have if you are going to have bladder cancer. However, low grade can also become invasive so regular monitoring (and regular review of the treatment plan) are required forever.

Today is May 19th and I just had my first follow up cysto.....the doc said the cancer was back again, not as much as the first time, but i need to go back to the hospital for the laser thing again.....Im just feeling a little down and sorry for myself, but i do know that its not fatal, and I was told it can reoccur.....I begged the doc not to leave me in with a catheter this time, and since it is not as bad as last time he said "ok".....LOL.....I was in sales so I "sold" him on it maybe.

Anyway this is where I come to let it out, and once again thanks for reading this.

Surgery is scheduled for sometime in the next 2 weeks.
