After the last couple of weeks this website has needed a positive shot in the arm. We've experienced a few mis-communications as of late.

But then again, awsome does describe the site well.

Thanks folks. I spoke to my doc and he said to just do some bladder excersizes and stop liquids 2 hours before bed...so far so good....but boy it really is not a fun experience thats for sure.

The doc does not want to give me any meds for it, which i like, so I will just relax and get back to a normalish life.

I have been told that it could take up to a year or so to "retrain" the bladder......so as long as the cancer is in the background and under control, I can deal with it.

I will check back in when I can, but as always, this website is awesome.

Hello, Alan - just wanted to let you know that after my HoLAP (Holomium Laser Ablation of the Prostate) on 9/30 to widen the path of my ureter through my prostate, I bled for over one month before stopping. My urologist had to wait to start my BCG (Ta, non-invasive with multiple sites) because of that. I'm now rounding 3rd and heading for home on the BCG treatments (two to go), and my urge to urinate is still sudden and strong, but the slight bouts of incontinence I had during the first month are gone. Hang in there - time seems to be a good healer after the reaming of the prostate.

Cheers - Maryland Mike

Jimswife and Alan - I just ran across this post and felt compelled to respond. I didn't realize I had a urinary flow problem for years (as long as I can remember) - all I knew was that when I tinkled in a public restroom, my stream sounded more like a trickle when compared to some of the waterfalls beside me (:<) - I didn't think anything else of it. When I started passing visible blood earlier this year and had a CT, a large (3cm) bladder stone was found. My first cystoscopy showed a very narrow path for the ureter through my prostate, which was obviously restricting my urinary flow and causing incomplete voiding of the bladder. I had a "trifecta" (Stone ablation, HoLAP ablation of the prostate, and TURBT) in one OR table visit - and here I am with Ta non-invasive in many places in my bladder. Does the urologist suspect pooling of urine in the bladder for the stone and the carcinoma? "Quite possible, but not definitive", he says. I'd like to see a study done to see if urinary restriction over a prolonged time span can cause bladder cancer,

The best to all - Maryland Mike

Alanlee, It's good to hear from you. I been taking a break myself. Your key words are " ALL CLEAR ". It may not seem like it right now but the all clear is something to celebrate. As for the pain and spasms they will get better. The incontinence should also get better, but if it don't and it bothers you that much, there are fixes for that also.
Hope you feel better soon.

So glad to read you are coming along, Alan. Just so happy for you. It all seems to take time and as you wrote so good to have that "all clear". Stay well, friend!
