Alanjay,

What stage and grade was shown for each tumor?
Have the doctors discussed cystectomy for you?
Multiple tumors in a recurrence is certainly something to think hard about.

Sorry to be so late in replying, I just read your note.

I started in 2007 with CIS in the bladder. 2 rounds of 6x BCG, 2 rounds of 3x BCG. Last year they found a T1 in the ureter on biopsy.

They insertd a nephrostomy tube to the kidney. This was a bit uncomfortabe as I tend to sleep on that side. The first week ther was a bag attached and I went through the bag. Not much worse than having a catheter with a bag.

After it healed, they did a 6x BCG through the tube. It was no worse than the BCG through a catheter. The infusion took an hour, but you can sit and walk around. A week after the treatment, the nephrostomy tube was removed.

Unfortunately, this treatment did not work, the cancer in the ureter returned and I had to have the kidnay and ureter removed at which point the cancet was T3.

Hope your treatment went better.

Over 2 years ago was diagnosed with Transitional Cell Carcenoma. after 2 biopsys via Cystoscope, 2 series of BCG and 2 TUR (biopsy) I was told that one tumor was in the bladder wall but it was removed. The next Cystoscopy showed a new tumor. My doctor referred my to a urological surgeon. I had the option of going to Cleveland Clinic or UM-Jackson Memorial. While waiting for the surgeon, had a CT due to concern of having Kidney stones. No stones but multiple tumors in the Bladder. Due to the location of the tumors I have to get a Nephrostomy tube. Due to dissatisfaction with service or lack of by Urological surgeon I left and went to Holy Cross hospital. Now have Oncologist and Urologist that actually talk to one another. I met the doctors 3 weeks ago. I will have TURBT (biopsy) my third, next week and start Chemo the following week.
Is there anyone out there with a similar situation and how was this handled?
