One day post op

Flo..report the blistering to your stoma nurse or doctor. You may need patch testing. You could be reacting to the components of what the temporary bag is made of or even any wipes you may be using. You wouldn't believe what they put in some of that stuff.

I personally reacted to the bag itself and had to use a stoma powder until i finally got rid of it and my rash cleared up...but no blisters. Oh and i found that i was allergic to the Dial soap they advised to wipe my stoma with after cathing..i did get blisters with that..anything with perfume in it and i break out..so i used some cortisone cream to clear it up and now for 8 yrs have just used plain old water to wipe the stoma after cathing.
But do report it.........

has any one had blisters on abdomin after surgery a nurse friend told me it could be be from the tape but it is four little blisters in RLQ between my stent drains and my stoma everything else seems okay until about 5 pm pain gets bad and have to get something more than my pump because it hurts so bad and i tense up so much my drains dont work but within 15 minutes of meds kick in and urine starts flowing again. I am walking lots chewing gum (yes pat at same time even on drugs talented i am) tummy is rumbling just not passing gas just yet.

Glad you are through the surgery. For most folks it takes a few days for the GI tract to get restarted. I was pretty silent until post op day 4 or5. Keep up the walking and get them to repeat any info that you need clarified. Best wishes for your continued progress.

Wow..i'm impressed Flo..walking and chewing gum at the same time!
and on drugs no less.
Give the bowels a couple of days..they're very sleepy and they're on drugs also remember!!
