We use the personal messenger for developing relationships and support. But if we post our questions off forum others lose as they do not gain knowledge. So to your question

Thanks a lot for your reply.

I just want to ask one more quesion, if there was a mess or cyst or tumor would the ultrasound pick it?or just cystoscopy can reveal them.

thanks

Cystoscopy is the gold standard as some things that are two small for CT or ultrasound to find. It is a little bit more trouble and a bit uncomfortable but would be the reasonable thing to do right now. Ultra sound can find many things but for things like CIS that is a flat tumor cystoscopy works better. Any of the methods mentioned might find an irregularity if it is the right type but are used in different circumstances.

First of all take a big breath. You could be dealing with something or nothing but freaking out will not help you or your mother. What should be going on is going on and until they do more test you will be waiting for answers. Even if the Urologist finds something suspicious in the bladder you will be waiting for more answers. They will then have to take a sample and send it to pathology just remember even if it is a tumor not all are cancerous.

Now here is the reassuring news only 1 time out of 1000 does the presence of blood in the urine mean it is cancer. And even if it is cancer if caught early it is treatable and even advanced cases many times respond to treatment.

The bottom line is that time will tell and if you are dealing with bladder cancer we will be here to help you if you need us and many of us are long term survivors so for many of us it can be beat.

Hi everybody ,
Here is my story. My mother is 71 and overall healthy. She had microscopic blood in urine, she took antibiotics but there is still blood in urine .She was refered to urologist. He did an ultrasound and told that the bladder can not empty all the urine. he prescribed antibiotics for the infection. He also ordered cytology for urine and he is gonna do a cystoscopy tomorrow. I am so worried . She does not have any symptoms. If there was any tumor or cyst or stone would the ultrasound show? or if it doesn't show then its more scary thats why they do cystoscopy???? I was hoping for a stone or cyst but ultrasound did not show anything? are they looking for something serious??

Please give me your answers.
I am freaked out
