I do have to agree that beer isnt always the best chemo, for really agressive cancers you may have to resort to tequila

However, I can attest to the fact that too much beer (or gin) can have the unintended consequence of having your neobladder relax to the point of complete release after you thought were completely continent.

Happened once to me when walking down the hall in my hotel. Luckily nobody was around and I was close to my room when it happened.

Only happened once, but....

When I had my first TURBT I asked my uro if I could have a beer or glass or wine with my wife after I was off the pain meds. She said beer definitely - good irrigation!! So there is a solid medical opinion that beer is good for healing - in moderation of course.

Andy,

Glad to hear that your recovery is going so well. As far as drinking beer, I discovered that beer is actually a very effective chemo therapy. (although my doctor was not so sure)
I went back to drinking beer soon after my neobladder operation and I think that is why I am still cancer free almost 4 years later.

Andy; great to hear you are doing well. It sounds like your
recovery is going even a little faster then mine. I really started to improve after i got all the tubes out. It sounds as
tho your wife is as great as mine with her help and support.
Wishing you both the best.
