You might want to see if your pain doc can submit something to the hospital records that negates those comments.

I'd be peeved too! Try not to let it get to you too much though. You have enough on your plate.

I finally got a copy of my records for the TURB done in Nov. Thay dr was a real jerk and Im better off without him. Under my medical history along with my other issues that I was a nicotine abuser! It didnt say smoker but abuser! That really ticked me off. Then he had the nerve to say that patient is addicted to opiates and was counselled about stopping them. My pain meds never came up in our presurgical meetings. My records show what I take but we nwvwr discussed them. What had happend was when he admitted me I was given a morphine pump on the IV. He had said he had raised the normal amounts as he expected I would experience some discomfort. It turns ouy I could get 10mg of morpine(5 per bolus) and then it locked out for an hour. Thats all I was to get! Im sorry but I take 150mg of SR morphine 3X a day for severe pain. What he gave me barely kept me from having withdrawl but no help at all for the pain. I had asked the nurse for help but after contacting the dr she said he refused to increase it do to my weakened consition he did want to chance resperatory failure. I was in luck as my pain dr stopped in out of the blue to see me. He was visiting a patient and saw I was there. He jumped right in and got what I needed.
Because of this my records said i was an intractable parient. That I had brought in another dr forcing a conflict in treatment! On my discharge summary the uro stated that I had a problem with narcotics and as such would always be a difficult patient(I think he prefacing future procedures as at the time we were supposed to do the cysto under a ggeneral at the same hospital. I am so upset that he would put a atignata in my records like that which could jepordize future care for me at that facillity.
