On Friday my urologist called me and told me I had superficial bladder cancer and that I would need to start taking BCG treatments every week for six weeks. Today I went and got a copy of the path report and it says "Papillary Urothelial Carcinoma, High-Grade, with focal invasion into Lamina Propria. Muscularis Propria is identified, Definitive involvement cannot be determined. Anyone want to translate into English? Last Monday I had gone in the hospital for a routine exchange of a stent in my right kidney the cysto had been scheduled earlier than normal because I was experiencing pain etc. and my urologist thought the stent was begining to irritate my bladder. During the procedure he discovered "erythematous spot along the left lateral wall". That was what he biopsied. I also am a diabetic on the pump, and have stage four chronic kidney disease. My doctor makes this all sound like it is nothing. Am I being too concerned? Will my other health issues affect the BCG treatments? I probably have a million more questions but not sure which ones are even important. Oh, I did call an oncologist and make an apointment for Thur. because I feel that I can get good solid information from him. But Thur is still 3 days away and I would like some answers if anyone has any. I can't even figure out if this is invasive or not though I am pretty sure it doesn't go into the muscle. Gues I am rambling so will stop for now and await any answers you may have. Quiltingnanny - Dallas, GA.
