Your phrasing is beautiful.  Keep writing.

If you REALLY want to post pics, I gave the instructions of how I do it at Storyboard.

I would love to see some pics of the beautiful countryside that you describe.   I have never been to Indiana.

Please keep us posted on how you are doing.

Wendy!!! Cool picture of you. Beautiful hair. Wish mine looked that nice.
Ok. my computer has been messed up. we are to get a new one maybe this week. I've been on and off line for awhile.
I've been following the celiac diet and it has helped a bunch but unfortunately I've dropped another two pounds. My brother has a dog that weighs as much as me now. :o I'm too skinny for fredrick's of hollywood or victoria's secret. The specialist has scheduled me for a colonoscopy Nov 30th. Uhhgg. :-/ another test. I'm not worried. I just wish they would come to a conclusion soon. Seven months and 55 #'s >:( is too long to be messing around with this. :-[
I've been spending my time reading and listening to my old rock. I've had an epiphany! Magic Carpet Ride is the greatest song known to man. :D And not just because I am a rugrat and we work with wonderful magic carpets.... Some of them from across the ocean in Greg's neck of the woods!! If I could figure out how to post pictures I would put some on. Mr rugrat was born with carpet fuzz on his knees. He does beautiful work.
Anyway. Such is the life. I felt well enough to take a drive around town today. We live in a little farming community of about 700 people, about 100 miles from Indy. It was sunny and somewhat warm so it was enjoyable to see people and houses and lots of leaves piled up. The grain elevator is right in the center of town and I could smell the corn chaff in the air as I drove by. Corn chaff is the herald of fall here. It is an aroma that takes me back to my childhood, playing in grain wagons with my siblings. sometimes I miss those days terribly. we just sold the farm last spring. It had been in the family since 1886. Hard to let go but none of us kids decided to go into farming and it was time to move on, I guess.. Sounds rather simple but it was a great day to be out. Can't remember the last time I left the house just for a joy ride and no doctors appt. :) Ok. I'm getting boring again. You all can ignore me!! My contact with the real world is slim right now so you all get the brunt of my medically imposed isolation and transient boredom. Bubbles I need the bong for entertainment if nothing else. ;D
Wish me luck on the 30th. I'm not sure what dr is looking for. If he finds nothing I will be on my way to Indy to a dr down there. Hate to go that far away again but I can't get any more thin. Greg is right... they don't need the x-ray machine anymore. A 40 watt bulb against my back side will suffice. Thank you all and take care. elaine- rugrat... ;)

Hi Elaine,

GREAT to see you are taking command of your life and have decided to live rather than quietly dribble away to avoid making waves.

Make an entire damned Sounnami - we are ALL on your side but you forgot to post what you ate today - what glutten free fantasmagoria have you pigged out on and how much and how often?

I'm your glutten monitor and much as I like slim chicks skeletal is just a bit too slim so get with the programme and start to get some energy back so that you can take advantage of the new attractive you as you regain normal weight - think of all the things you miss with no energy and under weight!

YOU CAN DO IT.

What the human mind can concieve and believe the human brain can achieve!

It is far better to die trying with dignity than try dieing in indignity - so come on you have all to play for and your husband is with you all the way.

Your family need you so where is the list of food today and tomorrows planned menu and times?

EVERY DAY or we will let you choose - we can help but not if you don't fight for us and with us just as we are fighting with you and for you.

Don't let yourself down - you chose to change and you chose to live so we will do ALL we can.

Have you started Illusions yet?

I'll be off line for two days so play nicely together and don't forget Bubbles is the keeper of the Bong and Mr. Woodie the Carpenter is in for a rebore later today so lets all be thinking of him to make sure hthis is a GREAT day for them both.

Don't forget small babbies, sick puppies and neo skeletons need to eat little ansd often - when did you last have something glutten free and when is the next planned glutten free food - is that enough to start packing on health, strength and curves?

Keep at it.

Regards,
Greg L-W.

Hi,

Whew, what an update. I'm glad your husband is taking the reins and getting you to a specialist for that condition. I did a google search and there's a lot of info out there, seems that the gluten free diet is the best way to go, and not so simple to achieve. IE: vitamins and medicines can have binders that contain gluten. I also read that IV nutrition is often used for those who are malnourished. It seems that this might be a good option for you to help you regain some weight in a hurry.

Good that you're going to get tested by someone who knows a lot about the condition, and that you will be able to rule out other scary things and deal with this. It's hard to deal without a diagnosis!

If you live in Indiana the bong may not be the best route! Lots of straight folks there... ;) I've been there a bunch of times, my sister is a professor at IUSB.

For true bong pleasure I suppose my home of Amsterdam is the most relaxed!

I hope you feel good enough to draw, and if you have anything scanned, please feel free to email them to me: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Good luck with things,
Wendy

Greg, you are absolutely right. I truly think one of my doctors is prejudging me on a mental condition that hasn't even manifested in the last two years, they are going to kill me. This is not in my head. I couldn't have 'made' my kidneys start to fail nor could I have cause this incessant diarrhea, indigestion and nausea. I am a skeleton now and I have no more to give to them and no time left to wait for their schedules to include me. I WILL be gluten free tomorrow and stay that way. The diagnosis was made last tuesday by the symptoms my poor tummy and abdomen were screaming out to that stethoscope!! He heard it, and along with all my other physical presentations and my family background, it can't be overlooked. After seven months it is the only thing that makes any sort of common sense. All the bad stuff came back today when I ate the toast. That was the only variable. So, as Scarlette O'Hara emphatically proclaims... "Tomorrow IS another day!"

My hubby came home with the news that he is taking me to Indy to a clinic that deals with celiac disease and they will retest me and treat this so I will be well enough to see my grandbaby grow up. I have so much to teach her about life and... adversity... if nothing else. I was about to start a portrait of her and I need to get well enough to do that! Also have a book to read. ;) Sorry for the typo, that was supposed to be "Illusions" by Richard Bach. ::) I don't type so well when I've just ingested a grain that is 'out to get me." ;D Besides, it will be very hard to fight bladder cancer recurrences at the rate I am going. I need my immune system to fight cancer; not gluten.

Bubbles, may I borrow the bong? ;) My entire town thinks I am dying. I am the last one to see it. :o I've had many offers of the king of all 'natural herbals.' ;) I may just have to do something to stimulate my appettite so I can eat and gain the muscle I have lost. There certainly isn't any fat on me at this point.

I appreciate you all letting me post about this. It isn't overtly a bladder cancer topic but in a way it is because, as I said, how am I to fight the cancer cells if my immune system it too busy waging a war in my intestines. :-/

Please keep cheering me on. This is motivating and keeps me from feeling like I am caught in the quagmire of my small town medical incompetence. Again, my best bet, as I did the minute I found out about the bladder cancer, is to go to Indy. 8-) Thank you all so much. I will let you find out how it goes. The gasto doctor wants a colonoscopy and I will do that. There could be something else. It has been quite the year for me and I am ready for a new, better one!! Take care, elaine

Ps. I will have to have my son-in-law put my thumbnail on so you all can see me. No bong but I could come up with something. ;D

Hi Elaine,

so it is kind of a standoff - >:(

When you aren't trying to make yourself ill your Doctor joins in :o

AM I RIGHT in saying your life is pretty cr** at the moment? Weight loss, indignity, embarrassment and near agraphopia in avoidance of people. Too weak to argue etc. :'(

How long at your present rate of deterioration before you OR your Doctor kills you? :o

Whatever you ARE doing isn't working so you have NOTHING to lose and everything to gain. ;)

STOP EATING GLUTTEN - there is plenty more you can pig out on! ;D

Get a grip - it is your life seize it with both hands and shake some sense back into it - you WON'T beat cancer if you can not raise your basic health and you won't do that without CHANGE. :-/

It is clear you care and you care about others - you have no right to deny others your help by failing on your own case. :(

It is obvious you have a hunger for life or you wouldn't rush out and buy a book on the say so of some nut in Britain! 8-)

OK - tell your Doctor to take a hike - he has been treating you and look what a f***ing mess he seems to have made of it! :(

Take the risk - get a life and get better - take control - YOU are the boss. ;)

At the end of the day BECAUSE you are the boss and it is YOUR life and you have no right to merely exist when you have so much to give. :-/

YOU and YOU alone must choose :-/ - whether to bump along existing and letting your Doctor dictate or seize the initiative - yeah so one or other of the decisions is right and the wrong decision may kill you. ::)

Life is all trade offs - exist and slowly slide towards denoument OR force a change and grasp life with both hands and determine to regain health with a glutten free long term pig out - NO lapses - Lapses are choosing self destruction, a pure cop out. >:(

Your Rubicon has come! :-[

Stay in the comfort zone and steadily deteriorate without making waves or plunge into the Rubicon determined to come out into the sunshine on the other side but YOU must decide because it is one or the other and it could kill you. :-/

I am sure I'm not the only one who believes you can swim! You have 'enjoyed' ill health too long, so long it has become a deteriorating norm you feel comfortable with. :-/

The only difference between a rut and a grave is a grave is deeper and a decision has been made to fill the ends in! :o You have a rut at the moment but as you get more institutionalised and underconfident, weaker and less determined will you let someone else fill the ends in? :-/

I think not. ;D

Come on - I want the details of what new glutten free food you have found that you like each time you find one that likes you :) - or else it sounds like mealie meal porridge and boiled water for ever! :(

Good luck with your decision. ;)

We are all going to watch your progress back to health on this list - a posting a day listing the improvements - tell us your achievements there just isn't an option for failure. ;)

Regards,
Greg L-W.
PS failing all else contact Bubbles and ask for one of her bongs - she seems a lot more relaxed now that she has discovered they aren't for blowing bubbles! ;D
