This is sad, who is her caregiver, the other set of eyes and ears, it should not have gone on , I hope she will get care she deserves soon. As I said before, time is awasting, precious time for her, I would like some promising news to her dimema on her cancer issues. Ginger

Who was watching her ? Why didn't someone report her reaction to the pain meds? The same thing happened to my husband after bypass surgery ..he actually thought he was in a Nazi Medical concentration camp and he was part of some medical experiments. His roommate called me at 2 in the a.m. to tell me he was going room to room telling patients he had found a way to escape!...All the while the nurses sitting around the nursing station not paying attention. I called his doctor and ran over to the hospital only to see him kicking butt and transfering my husband to another section of the hospital.
I'm so sorry this actually went on for 4 days unnoticed. If there is anyway to get her stabilized and AirVac her out of there...do it. When my mother had a heart attack on the way back from Florida in some little country town in Tennessee thats just what we did.
Of course if her kidneys are not functioning properly and not filtering waste that could cause delusions also.
The heck with patience.........kick butt.
Just my humble opinion...........Pat

I understand how you are feeling right now. It is very frustrating to "not know". I wish you the best and I hope that your bonus mom gets stronger soon.

She's now having hallucinations from an allergy from a pain medication. Shes been on another planet for four days now...last night she woke up at 4am and pulled out one of her nephrostomies in her hallucination b/c she needed to "stop eating junk food because she had to get ready for her tv show appearance on Americas Next Model Over 40"

MAJOR setback.

We have stand-by appointments set up with Johns Hopkins and Georgetown Lombardi for whenever they can even get her out of the hospital and even move her. Right now, its not happening in the next little bit...

I'm up waiting for another update from my dad... apparently the nephrologist talked to him tonight and hes really upset with whatever it is he has heard.

Ugh. I need patience...

Thanks for this info...

I've been waiting on a call to hear the doctor's name...

And, I agree with you on the consult and going to JH instead of this mini-run around. Her doc is also looking to make her an appointment there and set up the referral so maybe she can do both appointments within the same trip.

I'm not yet a parent? This is teaching me SO much about patience...I had no idea.
