The dye will be absorbed by any tumorus activity. I'm surprised they didn't give her some inclination right then....they told me right away. Pat

I just talked to my MIL. She had the CT scan today. The doctors ran an IV to put some dye in. They took some pictures without dye and then some with the dye. What is the purpose of the dye? Of course, they told her nothing. Now, next Tuesday she goes for the cystoscopy.

Patricia, you are exactly right! She doesn't know the results of the blood work yet. She won't get the results from any of her tests until June 17. I just don't understand. I did mention to her yesterday that she may be anemic. Although she doesn't see blood everyday, she could have microscopic bleeding. At least she is going tomorrow for the CT scan.
Thank you everyone who has responded. This is all new for us, and I am glad I found this forum.

It kind of depends....in my case I had gross hematura which sent me to the hospital and they did blood work and a CT scan which confirmed a tumor and then i had the cystoscopy 4 days later. But in your MIL case she has already been to a urologist who didn't bother to do a cystoscopy which just amazes me!! Its a bit bass ackwards!
She's probably lost a lot of blood and may be anemic....of course they haven't told you the results of the blood work right?
Get the CT scan and then get to a REAL urologist and pick up the results yourself from the hospital or you'll be waiting another month to get the results.

I don't know. Is that how it is usually done?
She had a really bad day today. She had no visible bleeding, but she had no energy at all. Some days it is all she can do just to get out of bed and get going.
