Hi Debbie,
I was reading your story, your husband had his catheter out the morning after his turb, sounds different as my husbands was left in 10 days, he should be sore but not in such pain as you describe. Where are you located and are you at a major cancer hospital. We have knowledge of many great bladder cancer specialists if you want a second opinion which we always advise. My husband had a r/c Sept. 14th 2007, Cleveland Clinic. I am anxious to hear stage of the tumor, and if its muscle invasive. Or do you know yet? Ginger Beane

...and he doesn't seem to be doing well. He rarely complains when hurting but he is tonight. Had the resection yesterday...removed two medium size growths and sent home with a catheter. After a miserable night, we returned to the doctor's office at 10:30 this morning to get the catheter removed. By 3:00pm, he could not urinated and bladder was in pain so we went back to get the catheter put back in. Tonight, he's shaky, bladder still hurts (although not as bad). Is it possible to not urinate properly even with a catheter? Doctor said swelling from surgery and the prostate can cause urine blockage so he is taking medication for just a few days to decrease the prostate swelling and ease the urine flow. I am so scared....what should I be watching for? How much pain is normal? He has vicoden and will administer now.

Thanks much, Debbie
