This is for Karen.

Whenever you miss the sound of bagpipes try this -

Raise you right elbow so that your right hand is level with your Adam·s apple
Hold your nose with you left hand
Raise your head slightly
Hum "Amazing Grace" with your mouth open, simultaneously tapping your Adam·s apple on each syllable with the index finger of your raised right hand.

Wow, Karen,

They really do it up big in New Jersey. I looked at the photos! It was a little Scottish magic on a much smaller scale here today, but with very much magical impact on myself. Since you liked the photo, here are a few more, in honor of St. Andrew...

Oh Rosemary I love bagpipes...I am a Redheaded Irish Catholic Girl (complete with green eyes and freckles) from NJ, Growing up the St.Patricks Day Parade in Belmar was and is a huge event. Here is a link to the website with wonderful pictures of the bagpipes.

When my father passed away we had bagpipes at his funeral at St. Catherine Church built in 1901 in Spring Lake, NJ. This is a beautiful Church with views of a lake on one side, and the Atlantic ocean on the other.

Thank you for sharing,
Karen

P.S. I would have followed the sounds just as you did. They are to me hauntingly beautiful, and reminiscent of my childhood and heritage.

Well the Ghosts in my town have been replaced today by the Scots. I went to town today and heard the trill of bagpipe and roll of drum bellowing "Amazing Grace" from several blocks away. When I followed the drum roll I found what you see below.
The Scots were in town today in honor of St. Andrew...what a sight they were...

Rosemary, I like the effect on that window photo. Makes it look scary! I have a friend in Texas who does Halloween in a big way. I'm sending her a link to see your pics. She will get ideas for her party! Thanks, Elaine :o ;D
