My brother was about forty, (he smoked ). My sisters son was thirtyfive, (he smoked).
I was fiftythree when I first had some bleeding . I didn't get diagnosed until a year later , fiftyfour. ( I don't smoke or drink ) go figure. Rocky

More family.

I understand that family members might all live in the same type of cancerous environment. But it just seems more likely to me that we come from our parents and we also tend to inherit their weaknesses also.

This may not be truly genetic because we can't really get cancer from our parents. Just the same vulnerabilities.

I was 55 (4 yrs ago) unfortunately I only had 4 BCG treatments and then had a reaction to the chemical. But I have been cancer free since then! I just count my blessings everyday. Bobbi

While prostate and some other cancers have been linked to agent orange, bladder cancer has not. Until sufficient studies are done to prove a causal link, the VA could not pay even if they wanted to. The doctor who said agent orange caused it in this case cannot, well at least shouldn't, make such a claim outright. He can have a gut feel but the research doesn't prove it at this point. Maybe someday it will but there is enough research to prove prostate and some other cancers.

I am not saying that agent orange is not a contibutory factor either. I'm just saying the research studies done to date have not confirmed a causal link.
