Pat, I have heard of people getting nerve damage in their leg from laying to long in one position during an operation. What a bummer that would be. To go into an operation and come out with a different problem just because someone didn't do their job.
My arm worked alot better to day and I was moving it around to get the deltoid muscle to strech more. the steroid shot left me feeling cummy though. I had to take steroids before because my breathing was shutting down and the Dr told me I would be feeling great and wanting to clean the whole house in a few days. They made me feel so awful I quit taking them. But they have helped my arm.
Sara Anne if I ever walk to Maine I will give you a call. Don,t hold your breath though you might pass out before I get there ! I have heard and read the stories from other hikers about the blackflies and how bad they are. Rocky

Just a wierd aside....i got an injury to my rotator cuff during TURB surgery...seriously. When i went to the PT he said he see's that a lot...huh...apparently there's a nurse responsible for seeing that you are positioned properly on the table.......mine must have been busy. I had to do such things as press against door jambs and a whole round of other stuff i kind of forgot. It just eventually got better. I wouldn't let him give me a shot as it was prior to my surgery.

I live in Maine. We don't live in any of the towns along the Appalachian Trail, but if you do get to Maine I'd love to meet you somewhere along the way and maybe even walk with you for a day or so. (Though I know I couldn't possibly climb Mt. Katahdin, which is the trail's end point.) I think September or early October would be a great time to be in Maine -- cooler weather, black flies and mosquitoes largely gone, and the start of autumn foliage. Spring tends to be wetter walking, and BUGGY!

Glad to hear you don't need surgery, but what you have sounds pretty uncomfortable to me nonetheless.

Hi guys, Well I saw the ortho dr today and I don't have to have surgery on my rotatorcuff. There are two small partial thickness tares , fluid in the joint and tendiitis, I did end up getting a shot in the deltoid muscle because of the tendiitis in it . It was all bunched up and as hard as a rock.
The dr told me I could carry a back pack as long as I didn't hurt to bad. Yea! To bad I didn't know last week when I was on the at trail in georgia and coulda hike for a week. That is my dream to hike the entire appalachain trail all 2000 some miles.
Maybe it could be as a bladder cancer awareness trip. Wonder how may of you all live along the trail. It goes from Georgia to Maine. The hard part would be leaving my grandkids and hubby for 6 months. I would do it next year if he still showed no sign of the lymphoma he HAD.
Sara Anne I start p therapy on it next week cause the shoulder was freezing up cause I couldn't get the deltoid muscle to move right. I hate goig to p.t. don't mind the work just giving up the time and twenty mile drive. God is good isn't he no surgery yea !rocky
