Hi Kaz,

I don't know if you figured out your problem and I surely, hope you did and it worked out well for you.
But, in the event, you had not I just wanted to share something with you.

On my 21st birthday when I should have been getting my first " legal" drink, lol, I got my first kidney stone.
One of many.

And, boy, oh boy... it sounds familiar to me. Have you had a CT?

Once before we could start chemo I had to have lithotripsy done. It really was not all that bad. Much better
then waiting on that boulder to pass my friend.

Something you might want to check into if not already.

I inherited 2 things from my dad. his kidney stones and his mustache.

I totally agree with Sara Anne. Take control and be seen. I wish you well and send prayers your way.

It sounds as if you have really been getting a "run around." You need to take control of this and CALL to see if an appointment has been set. If it hasn't, call again the next day. Don't just wait for them to call you. You have been suffering from this for long enough!!

All of that being said, your symptoms are NOT typical of bladder cancer, except for perhaps the urinary blood. And there are many, many causes for that which are not bladder cancer.

You do need to get this figured out, but bladder cancer should not be at the top of your list of worries.

I am a 40 year old female and I am really suffering with my bladder and im so convinced I have bladder cancer and things are moving really slowly with appointments for tests and stuff. for the last 6 odd months ive been having constant urge to go the loo for a wee at least 20-30 times a day and around 6 times a night, ive had 5 rounds of antibiotics had couple of scans which discovered im having bladder retention, i sometimes go and only a little trickle comes out then i leave bathroom for 10 minutes and im rushing back in there dying to go and nothing will come out and my eyes are watering coz its so painful. I have constant pelvic pain and lower back pain, on lots of strong painkillers all day and night, then in last 4 months ive had blood in my urine which lasts around 4-5 days then stops for a week or so then starts again for around 4-5 days, its really noticable sometimes clots and lots of mucous, i can actually feel it coming through my urethra in lumps, but also I had a clamcystoplasty operation 29 years ago where a piece of bowel was placed in my bladder, so ive always had some mucous in my urine due to the piece of bowel in my bladder, anyway last few moths with my ongoing bladder problems the blood and mucous has got a lot worse. ive been seen by gynea who referred me to urology where i thought i was getting a cystoscopy but i only seen a urology nurse who referred me to another hospital when i told her of my bladder op i had as a child. anyway she was shocked that i hadnt had any followup checkups after my op all these years or never had a camera into my bladder so shes sent an urgent referral to a specialist who deals with patients in my situation she said i would get a letter within a fortnight, its nearly been a fortnight and still havnt heard nothing yet. I feel like im just being passed from pillar to post and i just want to get to the bottom of what is wrong with me, ive been signed off work for a month by my doctor as im in so much pain all the time and i constanly need to be near the toilet. has anyone else had anything similar to me or has anyone else had the same operation i had as a child and is suffering now later in life with their bladder.
