I will be having a radical cystectomy with an Indiana Pouch on October 5. The surgeon , who is very knowledgable in this surgical process says that even though my chemo was quite successful, there is still some diseased tissue and this is my best chance to be cancer free. I feel positive about this after reading posts on this site,, especially from Cynthia. I am nervous about the surgery itself and the immediate aftermath. I am now sure I can handle the long term, it is the short term that worries me. thoughts anyone,?

Thank you For your responses and just for being there! Over the few days that I have connected with this site, I have gotten more support and personal (not purely medical) information than in the past 6 months. Thank you for being here! I am meeting with my surgeon in mid September to decide on the surgery and set a date. Will be in touch after that, I am sure !
