I think that your comment is very important....When women have burning and urgency symptoms doctors always seem to think "UTI." Which is probably usually correct. I had "UTI's" repeatedly over a year-long period. My primary care doc would just prescribe antibiotics over the phone. I went in for a long-overdue pelvic and pap smear at a gynocolgy practice and happened to mention the "UTI's." The nurse practitioner told me that if you have more than three episodes in a year you go to a urologist immediately.
Guess what? No bacteria in the urine (my gp had never tested.) The rest is history....I am now six years cancer-free after a diagnosis of CIS!!
