Hi Sharon
It sounds as if you are doing fantastically well and have been taken care of so well both by your doctors and DH.
Take care and dont rush things however tempting it is to
Love Lisa x

Well it's been 5 weeks since my surgery and I really happy so far with the results of getting my neo-bladder. All my pathology reports have come back and the cancer was retained in my bladder.
My surgery went well for being 8 hours long I did have to have a blood transfusion during surgery and again 4 days later, thats about the only complications. The biggest hurdle I have had to over come was those hot flashes every 20 minutes it was like boom. My GP put me on a low dose patch which helped during the day however the nights were still steady so she put me on Gabapentin which has really helped.

I still have some day time incontinence mainly if I sneeze, cough I did make one trip to Walmart and ran out of the store and rushed home and the hubby ran back and got what I went for. Gotta love him he has been a God send now if I can get him to quit yelling don't do that I will when I try to load the dishwasher or washer. Of course he leaves for 2 months in a few days but has the kids on strict orders of what I can and can't do.
I can honestly say I have no night time problems I was on a schedule 2 hours, 3 hours, 4 hours and now wake up at about 4:30 which is really good since I go to bed at 10. I only have to cath myself 1x a week mainly to irrigate.

My Doctor was and is the greatest, the hospital staff feared him he had his ways and you did not take short cuts with him so the nurses were always on top of everything he is one of the most respected Drs at VA Mason so I am postive I was in good hands. Now to stay on this new journey and pray my cancer is gone and I can start living my life again......
